Maren is Director, Strategic Account Development, based in ELEVATE’s Hamburg, Germany office. Working closely with European brands and retailers, Maren is expanding the ELEVATE business in Germany and helping customers optimize their supply chain responsible sourcing programs and drive improved performance throughout the value chain.

Prior to joining ELEVATE, Maren worked with the Otto Group with focus on the development and implementation of a sustainability roadmap. She was also responsible for the development and implementation of audit and capacity building. Regular visits to all relevant buying markets including stakeholder management and lobbying in all relevant sourcing countries were also part of her job. Maren was based in Shanghai for more than 15 years and in Istanbul between end 2009 and September 2015. She first moved to Shanghai in 1994 to establish and manage the first buying office for Karstadt/ Neckermann/ Hertie in mainland China and helped build up the China-direct business. She later built up the CSR department for KarstadtQuelle, and in this capacity also contributed to the development of the BSCI. Maren studied sinology, politics and economics in Trier, Germany and in Taipei.
