Joanne Manda

Regional Advisor, Climate Change and Innovative Finance, UNDP

Joanne is a climate and green finance specialist and works closely with ministries of finance to mainstream climate change into planning and budgeting systems through targeted public financing management (PFM) reforms. She provides policy advice and technical assistance to countries in Asia Pacific translating climate strategies into national budgets and priority investments for implementation. She holds an MSc. Environment and Development from the University of London and has over 18 years development experience working with DFID and UN agencies Africa and South Asia. Joanne leads the regional team’s capacity building initiatives which are strengthening systems for reporting on climate finance flows domestically and through UNFCCC mechanisms. Most recently, Joanne has been supporting the Government of Indonesia after issuing its sovereign green bonds/sukuk (Islamic bond) with impact reporting to investors.
